  • Geneon Entertainment buys out Pioneer

Along with that transition comes a new strategy for Pioneer's DVD home video releases. That of course, makes them a potential client for the company I work for - which does dvd-everything from menus to promos...

    ...and I am the bait?!?!

Apparently, my website and artwork has been used by my company's marketing people to show that the company, DZN, has the talent and passion to do anime dvd titles, and that Pioneer/Geneon's titles would be in good hands if we were to out bid other companies.

    Right?

Well, these days, I am not so sure at all. I haven't been able to feel passionate about the work I've done here at DZN nor can I endorse it. It's simply dirty work for the big boys (Disney, WB, Sony...etc) when their in-house artists are tied up doing "more important" projects. DZN certainly have not make me feel that I am valuable to the company, and definitely did not make me feel secured about my position.

And now all of sudden I am dragged into a conference and told that I am the key to getting this deal?!

    Thanks for the extra pressure.

For those who are still in school, this is how companies treat their employees, no matter how talented or capable you are.
